Quick answers

Answers to common questions about access, practice modes, and support.

Basics

What is Hangul Tactica?

Hangul Tactica is a beginner-focused app for learning jamo, the building blocks of the Korean alphabet. It combines puzzle-first campaign play with Library reading, Flashcards, Typing Drill, and Pair Rush.

Free start

What can I use for free?

You can use the full Library, chapters 1-2 in both campaign paths, and chapter 1 Flashcards, Typing Drill, and Pair Rush. Chapter 2 practice unlocks through free progress.

Full Access

What does Full Access unlock?

Full Access is a one-time purchase that unlocks the rest of the campaign and study content.

Account

Do I need an account?

No account is needed, and the app does not show ads. Full Access is a one-time purchase with no subscription and supports Family Sharing.

Pair Rush

What is Pair Rush?

Pair Rush is a timed challenge where you match Hangul glyphs with Roman counterparts before time runs out. Tactical items can freeze the timer, reveal a pair, shuffle the board, or add extra seconds.

Start

Where should I start?

Start with the free opening chapters and keep the Library nearby when you want context. Read the learning-loop guide.

Contact support

What should I include when contacting support?

Include the app version, your device and OS version if relevant, what happened, steps to reproduce if possible, and screenshots if they would help.

Settings Are Easier to Reach

Settings is now available as a clean sheet, similar to My Planner.

  • Library
  • Campaign path select
  • Inji and Sejong campaign intro screens
  • Chapter select
  • Stage select
  • Flashcards, Pair Rush, and Typing Drill setup screens
  • Flashcards play screen

Just tap the new gear icon to adjust your app experience without leaving your current flow.

Cleaner Settings Layout

Settings has been reorganized into a scrollable, structured layout.

Sound, language, visual options, intro options, and access settings are now easier to read and use. The sheet layout also works better on smaller screens and with larger text sizes.

Sound Controls

The Sound section now shows clearer on/off states for Vocal, BGM, and SFX.

You can also mute or restore the vocal layer of “Write the World” separately, while keeping the rest of the music playing.

Intro Skip Options

The Intro section now includes two separate options:

  • Skip Title Intro: open directly to the title/menu flow.
  • Skip Campaign Intro: after choosing Inji or Sejong, go directly to the chapter screen.

You can choose the intro flow that fits how you study.

My Planner and Navigation Polish

The My Planner book button has been refined across more screens, including campaign, chapter, and stage selection screens.

The app also includes a fix for a crash that could happen when opening My Planner from chapter select or stage select.

Visual Polish

The Korean title “한글 택티카” now uses the RIDIBatang style across the app, matching the Korean letter pattern used in the background.

Version 1.0.5

My Planner: Your Daily Hangul Mission

My Planner is now available as a new way to study across Hangul Tactica.

My Planner: Your Daily Hangul Mission

Instead of choosing every mode yourself, My Planner gives you a daily mission:

  • Learn new chapters through Campaign.
  • Practice them the same day with Flashcards and Pair Rush.
  • Recall yesterday’s chapter before moving forward.
  • Let older chapters echo back automatically for review.
  • Use Start Next Step when you want the app to guide what to do next.

You can choose paths such as Starter Path, Core Jamo Path, Full Letter Path, and Full Tactica Path. Plan cards now explain what each path is for, so it is easier to choose the right route.

Today’s Mission cards

  • Cards show the target Hangul glyphs and romanization for each chapter.
  • Multi-chapter review tasks show compact target details.
  • Campaign, Flashcards, Pair Rush, and Typing Drill tasks are clearer at a glance.

My Planner is easy to access across the app

  • Open it from the title/menu.
  • Use the book icon to check your plan from more places.
  • Planner task launches route into Campaign, Flashcards, Pair Rush, and Typing Drill.
  • Campaign planner tasks open the target chapter path directly.
  • Full Access paths and paid-range tasks show the upgrade sheet when needed.
  • Deleting an active Planner path asks for confirmation first.

Free users can start Starter Path. Full Access users can use the larger Planner paths.

New Theme Song: Write the World

The title music has been updated to the Hangul Tactica original theme song, “Write the World.”

When My Planner is open, the vocal layer softens so the Planner feels easier to read.

Settings and Polish

Settings now includes Skip Intro, so you can open directly to the title screen.

Version 1.0.4

Flashcards Pronunciation Update

Flashcards now make Hangul review easier to connect with sound.

Flashcards Pronunciation Update

Flashcards now make Hangul review easier to connect with sound.

  • Hangul cards now show pronunciation text.
  • Tap the pronunciation text to hear the Korean name spoken aloud.
  • Inji Review supports pronunciation on Hangul prompt cards.
  • Sejong Review supports pronunciation on Hangul answer cards.

This helps you review not only what each glyph looks like, but also how it sounds.

Official Website and Support Access

The title screen now includes a link to the official Hangul Tactica website:

hazybyte.studio/hangul-tactica

  • Learn more about how Hangul Tactica teaches jamo.
  • Review the learning loop and practice modes.

Version 1.0.3

New Mode: Pair Rush

Pair Rush is now included, chapter 1 practice appears earlier in Flashcards, Typing Drill, and Pair Rush, and the opening tutorial has a clearer swipeable guide.

New Mode: Pair Rush

A new timed challenge mode has arrived. Match Hangul glyphs with their Roman counterparts, clear the full board before time runs out, and use tactical items to freeze the timer, reveal pairs, shuffle the board, or add extra seconds when you need them most.

Pair Rush gives Hangul review a faster rhythm, helping you build quick recognition through active, puzzle-first play.

Chapter 1 Practice Sampler

Chapter 1 practice is now available earlier in Flashcards, Typing Drill, and Pair Rush. New players can try more of the full Hangul Tactica learning loop before completing the Chapter 1 campaign finale, while later chapters still follow the existing progression rules.

Improved Opening Tutorial

The opening tutorial now has a clearer, swipeable step-by-step guide. It better explains how the question and answer blocks move, how to rotate and place your block, and how to line up matching symbols.
