OnMyDesk

Privacy

OnMyDesk Privacy

OnMyDesk is designed around a local-first vault, on-device processing, explicit permissions, and Apple system services you choose to use.

Device storage

Data stored in your vault

OnMyDesk stores the content you choose to add to your library in the app's local storage, called the vault.

Vault content

Items you choose to keep

  • Documents and PDFs
  • Images
  • Notes and text you create
  • Audio recordings if you record audio in the app
  • OCR and indexing results generated on device for search

On-device processing

OCR, search, and duplicate detection stay device-centered.

OnMyDesk performs processing on your device for features such as OCR for PDFs and images, search indexing, snippets, and duplicate detection when enabled. Hazybyte Studio does not operate a server to upload your library content for processing.

Apple services

Some choices use system services.

StoreKit handles purchases. Files and iCloud Drive destinations are governed by the storage provider you choose. Speech recognition may occur on device or through Apple services depending on iOS behavior and language settings.

Backups and restore

You choose the backup destination.

When you select a folder in the Files picker, iOS grants OnMyDesk access to that location. The app uses that access to create, list, and manage your backup files. If you choose encryption, backup content is encrypted before it is saved to the destination you selected.

Choices

Your privacy controls

Available controls can vary by app version, but these are the privacy-sensitive areas covered by the OnMyDesk source policy and privacy choices material.

App Lock

Protect the vault view.

Depending on the app version, you may be able to enable App Lock, require device authentication, and hide content in the app switcher snapshot.

OCR

Control search indexing.

If the app provides the setting, you can enable or disable OCR indexing and control whether OCR results are used for search and snippets.

Spotlight

Choose system search behavior.

If you enable Spotlight integration, OnMyDesk can index supported items for device search and deep links, with sensitive deep links deferred when App Lock is enabled.

Notifications

Manage previews in iOS.

OnMyDesk may send operational notifications. Notification previews and styles are controlled in iOS Settings.

Backups

Choose where exported files go.

You choose the backup destination. Plain ZIP and encrypted .odmbackup files can be stored in Files, iCloud Drive, or another destination you select.

Permissions

Change access at any time.

Camera, Microphone, Speech Recognition, and Face ID or Touch ID permissions remain controlled through iOS privacy and device settings.

Retention and deletion

Your content remains until you remove it.

Delete items in the app, empty Trash if applicable, delete backup files from Files or iCloud Drive, or delete the app to remove the on-device vault. Backups saved outside the app remain where you saved them.

Security

Use device protection and strong backup passwords.

OnMyDesk includes optional App Lock, optional privacy cover, and encrypted backup support when enabled. No software system can be guaranteed completely secure.
